I'm a former PR account executive, corporate communication manager and advertising account exec with book publishing, IT, and oil industry experience.
I've also worked as a copywriter, an advertising and PR consultant, a marketing consultant, a freelance writer and editor, and Senior Editor of the book division of a large publishing house.
Here's a secret. I'm just getting started in Internet Marketing.
As a marketing consultant, I'm disgusted by much of the hype and hucksterism in Internet marketing. I 've done well by my advertising clients with the philosophy that if you actually have something great, you don't have to yell about it.
All you have to do is make people understand what you're offering and what it can do for them. In fact, the more hype I read, the more I feel that the advertiser is trying to hide something.
Are they trying to make up for an inferior product by promising the Moon? The answer seems to be generally, "Yes." So, bucking the trend, I decided to start this web site to help others who are just getting started in Internet marketing, too.
I also started a Market Plan HQ blog. Drop by the blog for candid comments on the IM marketing scene.
